“Isolation Verses”
by Neen Ramos
Verse #1
what I said
"Carry on,"
My WILL said.
So I say:
It's just another sorrow,
like any other anguish.
"Move forward,"
My HEART said.
So I say:
It's just another anguish,
like any other failure.
"Forge ahead,"
My MIND said.
So I say:
It's just another failure,
like any other setback.
"Keep pushing,"
My SOUL said.
So I say:
It's just another setback,
like any other suffering.
"Get going,"
My GRIEF said.
So I say:
It's just another suffering,
like any other misery.
"Forget it,"
My PAIN said.
So I say:
It's just another misery,
like any other sorrow.
"Then, I'm dead."
My CORPSE said.
I can't say:
That it just breeds more sorrow,
for 2020’s senseless deaths.
